Regn. No. District Shahdara/Society/170/2013
For family, friends and colleagues

Dear All,

We would like to share the latest updates regarding developments relevant to our society:

Land Use Change in Nearby Sector 8b of P-II zone.
As was informed earlier, DDA is trying to implement the policy in one sector so as to create an example for others to follow. Moving further in that direction, DDA has granted approval for the change of land use for a 40.2 hectare land pooling area in Sector 8b of P-II zone, making it the first sector to become eligible for development under Delhi’s land pooling policy.

Some objection from a party delayed their progress by a few months, but it is again back on track. Its successful implementation is vital for all the remaining sectors, including ours.

The proposal is awaiting final approval from Urban Development Ministry, MoHUA for it to get into effect.

Master Plan Approval – Recent News
As per recent news coverage on 28th of Feb, MoHUA minister, Sh Manohar Lal Khattar stated – “The Delhi Master Plan draft is ready and is in the final review stages between our department and the Union home ministry. We are confident that within the next two meetings between the ministry, we will be able to finalise it. The NCR Master Plan was delayed due to court decisions, and the (issues related to the) Aravalli region, but many issues have now been resolved. The DDA Chairman now holds charge of the NCR Planning Board, and a meeting will be held soon to finalise it.”

Appointment of New LG
Mr. Taranjit Singh Sandhu has been appointed as the new Lieutenant Governor. We will monitor any policy directions or administrative actions under the new leadership that may impact our area.

Update on Sector Division & Consortium Progress
There are currently no new updates from DDA regarding our sector division request. However, on a positive note:

  • We have secured consent from additional landowners.
  • The remaining gap is now only 20 acres for us to qualify even if the sector remains undivided.
  • We are working with landowners to gather more (written) consents.
  • We plan to submit the consortium proposal to DDA for further processing, once we achieve even half the number mentioned above, as has been advised by the DDA’s office.
  • Encouragingly, the DDA officials are also engaging with the remaining landowners to help bring them on board.

We will keep all members informed of further progress.

Warm regards,
for Aashiyana Housing Welfare Society
