Regn. No. District Shahdara/Society/170/2013
For family, friends and colleagues

Dear Members,

As you all would be aware, DDA opened its window for participation under the land pooling in Feb 2019 for a period of 6 months, to be concluded in Aug 2019. It was later extended till Sep 2019. Once DDA decides to close this window, they would take another couple of months to verify the applications with the revenue records.

We have been working with the landowners in P2 and L zone to resolve their queries and concerns regarding their participation in the policy. To encourage them further, we even invited DDA officials to hold a meeting with the landowners.

Since it is for the first time that a project of this magnitude has been planned under Land Pooling, it is requiring efforts from all sides to bring everyone together for their participation.

We were able to get the majority of landowners of Sector 6 & 7 in P2 zone to participate under the Land Pooling Policy. We have joined with other Society(ies) and the landowners, through whom we were able to surrender around 80 acres of land under LPP. With this, we have concluded the first phase for participation under the policy. As you would be aware, each sector needs atleast 70% landowners to come forward for participation, for the sector to become eligible, per the amended policy. Hence, we are actively working to get all the landowners in these sectors to get on-board.

L-zone has seen minimum participation so far, but we are hopeful that the one sector we are working on should make the cut before the first window for participation expires.

We will wait for the DDA to announce the closure of the first window for participation under the Land Pooling before calling upon this year’s AGM. In the meanwhile, we will continue working with the Land-owners, DDA officials and other stakeholders to make this policy a success.

Also, as was discussed in the last AGM, we have finalized a draft for the members who would wish to transfer their land share in order to quit the society. Since we are currently busy ensuring the success of phase-1 of the Land pooling, we will be sharing this document after the completion of this round.

We will request the rest of members to be ready for further payments to be incurred on planning, EDC etc as and when DDA and/or the Consortium would raise a demand.

After governmental indecisiveness of 5 years, things have started to move in the right direction. We are hoping to receive a go-ahead from DDA by this year-end.
